At the core of our efforts lies a desire to educate you on the food you eat. Kolli Hills being the herbal hub of Eastern Ghats since the Sangam era & home to 64 rare native herbs make it a perfect abode to grow bold pepper rich in piperine content.

Under the forest canopy, our pepper is grown at an altitude 1400m amidst lemongrass, jackfruit, ginger and turmeric.

Boiling pepper in hot water to make it look darker and mixing them with papaya seeds to increase volume are common malpractices. We do not follow any of these.

Adulterated foods simply resemble food but they are not. Most consumable brands target visual appeal to spread an idea that the external appearance equates to quality. Thus, we are unable to judge the quality of food apart from how it looks.

Chances of black pepper going bad are slim, provided we follow proper storage practices.

  • It must be stored in a cool and dry place.
  • Seal it in an airtight container so that there is no moisture.
  • Once pepper is ground or powdered it begins to lose flavour. So, it is advisable to grind/powder pepper in small batches to keep the spice and taste intact.

This way, whole black pepper can be used for 3 to 4 years, and ground pepper / pepper powder can be used for 1 to 2 years.

Is your pepper genuine?

Try to crush the whole black pepper seeds in your hand.

If the seeds are tough to crack, your pepper is good. ( Adulterated seeds crack very easily)

Smell a crushed black pepper and taste it.

If there is a strong aroma and if it is spicy, your pepper is good to use.

Drop a few whole black pepper seeds into a glass of water.

If the seeds sink water, your pepper is good. (If it floats, it could be papaya seeds)
